The date on this contraption is June 10, 1890. I imagine that is the date it was built. |
Best we figured was that it was a rock crusher. What a feat it was to get it all the way up there. I'm sure people suffered to do it. |

We camped that night in a grove of trees. This is looking towards the lake from the edge of the grove. |
We're at about 7800', 1200' up from 6400' at Kennedy Meadows.
